We started exposing our students to work cooperatively to create a class story. The students were giving the story title `A Wonderful Day.` They were then divided into three groups namely: `Morning` `Afternoon` and `Evening`. The students then create mind maps to organize their ideas to describe each section of the story. The students then write sentences, phrases and words to describe what they would like to do to make their days `wonderful.`

The next step will involve students creating their first draft of the story then the teacher will take them through the process of editing a story then presenting the story as their first class story.

今週の中1グローバルコースの英語では、簡単なマインドマップを作成しました。「素晴らしい日 A Wonderful Day」をテーマに生徒がグループになって意見を出し合って、マインドマップからストーリーを作っていきます。この授業では、生徒から出たアイデアを単語や語句で表して紙にまとめました。まとめた単語や語句から文を作って、最終的には文章としてまとめる予定です。作業の過程には、英語力だけでなく発想力や思考力など様々な要素が必要になってきます。もちろんチームワークも大切です。

また、iPadのアプリを活用して課題の配信も行っています。生徒は課題のテーマに沿ってスピーキングの動画を撮影しアプリを経由して教員に提出します。次の課題は、「iPadで写真を撮って、その写真について英語で説明しなさい」です。

生徒が自分で考えて英語で表現する授業を今後も行っていきます。
