今年度スタートしたグローバルコースの夏の行事、イングリッシュサマーキャンプが始まりました。イングリッシュサマーキャンプでは、本校に在籍するネイティブ教員が考案した様々な言語活動を行います。これらの活動を通して生徒は、スピーキング技術、プレゼン技術を上げるだけでなく、英語に対するモチベーションなどを高めていきます。今回は、本校グローバルコースの生徒のほか新モンゴル高校交流生2名も参加しました。

It was the first day of English summer camp. A lot of students seemed to be nervous at the beginning, but little by little they talked to each other and smiled.

ほぼすべての活動において生徒が主体となります。このサマーキャンプでは英語に親しむことはもちろん、グループワークでの協働性や積極性も重要な要素として捉えています。

Students enjoyed many summer camp activities. There was excellent cooperation between the students. I thought the students behaved well and were very polite.

プレゼンテーションのトピックは、新モンゴル交流生と一緒に行った校外活動の場所から選びました。夏休みに入ってから、生徒たちは浜松をはじめたくさんの観光地や史跡を見学しました。その校外活動のまとめとしてプレゼンテーションを行いました。

They chose one topic for the presentation. In this summer vacation, the students in the global course went to many places with Mongolian exchange students. Then they took photos in the historical places, museums, factories. They asked questions to the worker there and wrote notes. For the presentation, they could make the most of them to make their presentation better.

課題解決型グループワーク ”One Missed Call ~Will you join us?~”　では、校内の指定された場所に行き、出された課題に対して英語で言語活動を行います。

ホラー映画の１シーンのような設定も…。

生徒たちはウォークラリーのようにチェックポイントでネイティブ教員と言語活動を行います。

I really enjoyed getting to know our global students better. It was also nice talking with the Mongolian exchange students, Baska and Maaya.

教室の中にはとどまらず、体を動かしながら英語を使います。

Day one was a success. The students were able to integrate across the grades (High school and Junior High school). They collaborated in groups to make group presentation in English.

グローバルコースの生徒が学年を超えてグループワークに取り組んだ1日でした。2日目も楽しみましょう。

Let’s have fun! Don’t be afraid of making any mistakes. Practice makes perfect!
