Super Arts and Sciences Course

スーパー文理コース

This course is designed to develop the academic ability of students to pass university entrance exams in general. The school spends more than the stipulated standard number of hours on the five core subjects in the Courses of Study, to ensure the students acquire basic academic skills while being exposed to advanced content. Additionally, during long vacation periods, workshops are held to improve students’ communication, writing, reading and problem-solving abilities and foster an attitude of self-directed learning. In the third year of junior high school, we provide many extra hours of classes, mainly in Mathematics and English. This creates the bridge which connects to the content of upper secondary school studies.

The Super Arts and Sciences Course is organized based on a comprehensive assessment of students’ academic ability and awareness of their career goals after high school graduation. Students receive individualized instruction in small groups. The course is aimed at helping students advance to both public and difficult-to-enter private universities. Over time, students become highly motivated to study, and their academic ability is steadily improved through classes with rich content.

Global Course

グローバルコース

The Global Course is designed for students who are aiming to enter international universities and faculties in Japan and universities overseas. Over the course of six years, we aim to develop the abilities necessary for students to function in a global society by challenging them to utilize acquired end-to-end skills. Their preparation is broad-based but ultimately directed towards refining the attributes needed to gain admission to, and function in, international universities and faculties in Japan, as well as universities overseas. We aim to “cultivate the mind” through English camps, overseas study trips, global education courses, and other programs, including a homeroom system with native English-speaking teachers. In addition, seven hours of English classes per week are provided, focusing on the four English skills, to help students acquire the English language ability that will serve as the foundation of their future global participation.

Six years of systematic instruction with moral education as the pillar
Students develop their skills and mindset through studying various global issues and educational themes commensurate to their academic and emotional growth. At the junior high school level, we place special emphasis on the acquisition of English language skills as the foundation for functional interaction, with an in-depth understanding of the basics and fundamentals in mind. We aim for our students to obtain Eiken Grade 2 by the time they have completed their third year of junior high school.

Cultivation of practical skills
We emphasize real cross-cultural experience by offering the students the opportunity to interact with not only our six native-English-speaking staff members, but also invited guests from around the world, both in person and online. By breaking down preconceived notions and expanding our students’ horizons we aim to not only develop communication skills, but to build a foundation from which our students can become active and contributing members of the global community.

Integrated University Preparatory Class

一貫進学クラス

Aiming to go on to higher education while balancing club activities
While learning to balance the demands of club activities, students spend six years studying for higher education, concentrating more time on the five main subjects than the standard number of hours required by the Ministry of Education’s Courses of Study. This ensures that basic academic skills are firmly established and advanced content is also covered. In mathematics and English, classes are organized according to proficiency level, with the goal of thoroughly understanding the basics and developing the ability to apply them.

Six years of continuous instruction expressing ideas in written form
As an ongoing six-year program to help students acquire the ability to express themselves through writing, students engage in “ASASAKU” (morning composition) once a week in their morning homerooms.

Implementation of the Kaiseikan Calculation Proficiency Test
The Kaiseikan Calculation Proficiency Test is held three times a year as a unique initiative of the school to ensure that students have a firm grasp of mathematical fundamentals and basics.

Enhanced Extracurricular Classes
Various workshops are held during long vacations to review and improve the application of study content outside of regular classes.

Support for Balancing Study and Club Activities
While focusing on classes, we provide guidance that does not cut corners in either study or club activities, such as holding workshops during long vacations.

Guidance to develop the individual
Using the Foresight Planner, a notebook for daily life, homeroom teachers identify and address individual issues. The homeroom teacher gives personalized guidance to each student to help them through any difficulties that arise in the course of their schooling, helping to develop each student’s individuality in a supportive and caring environment.
