Returnee Student Policy
海外帰国生の編入学について
Transfer Window
Students who are returning from foreign countries are welcome to join the school at any time. However, third-year high school students may only transfer up to June. As a general rule, students will be admitted to the Global Course (junior high and senior high school) and the Preparatory Course (high school).
Application Process
- 1. Confirmation of academic background.
- 2. Individual consultation (explanation of the school, entrance exam, etc.) → If you wish to transfer, go to 3.
- 3. Make contact with Hamamatsu Kaiseikan for transfer examination and submit required documents.
- 4. Register and take transfer examinations.
Application Requirements
【Junior High School】
Students must have been enrolled in a school at his or her grade level and have completed an approved program in the previous country of residence.
【High School】
Applicants must be enrolled in an overseas high school for at least one year, and in addition to understanding Hamamatsu Kaiseikan’s educational policy, have a strong desire to transfer to a domestic school upon returning to Japan at the end of the school year or in the middle of the second school year.
Additionally, applicants must possess the basic learning ability required to master the high school curriculum and be able to engage in learning activities conducted in Japanese.
Required documents
○ A completed transfer form application, with payment of the examination fee (17,000 yen).
○ Official academic transcripts.
○ Certificate of enrollment or proof of the period of enrollment (with the school principal’s signature, and school seal).
○ Certificate of residence or proof of period of residence*
1.Any form with the signature of the head of the school, etc.), or
2.a certificate from the head of the parent/guardian’s organization, etc., or
3.an alternative certificate that shows the period of residence in the foreign country.
* In the event the applicant is individually returning to Japan, a letter of acceptance by a person in place of the parent or guardian is required.
Selection Method
Applicants will have examinations in English, Japanese, mathematics, as well as a formal interview (accompanied with one guardian).

Post-Acceptance Guidance
In addition to general, student-guidance, returnee students might also receive additional instruction in school subjects when deemed necessary. In the Global Course, native English teachers are also assigned as homeroom teachers. Furthermore, Global and English lessons will be conducted to allow students to apply their unique qualities in classes.
